Lower Trelawny Community Development Fund Limited

The Lower Trelawny Commnuity Development Fund is an Approved Lending Agency (ALA) situated at 2 Trelawny Street, Falmouth in the Parish of Trelawny.

Mission Statement
"To broaden the economic base of its members through savings, training and credit."

The CDF was established in October 1994 and operated under the Industrial and Provident Society Act.

The Micro Investment Development Agency (MIDA) provides funding for the company. Loans in the areas of agriculture, manufacture and other related projects are granted to the members. Through MIDA and other related agencies the borrowers have been able to access training in marketing small business development and credit management.

The chairman of the company is Mr. C. A. B. Gordon; he is assisted by Ms. B. Harvey the company's secretary.

Membership
To become a member of the company you are required to purchase eighty (80) shares at five JMD. Dollars per share.

The concept of MIDA-Community Development Fund (C.D.F) Community Revolving Fund (CRF) is an excellent initiative because it creates opportunities /employment for individuals whose projects/ideas would not be facilitated by the commercial banks.
