The Portmore Community Development Fund is a registered company under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act and provides project financing to existing businesses within the parishes of St. Catherine, Kingston and St. Andrew. The Fund is an approved lending agency of the Micro Investment Development Agency (MIDA) and was originally one of two Community Development Funds serving Portmore. It has since taken over the loan portfolio of the Braeton Community Development Fund, which was an older lending organization.

The Portmore Community Development Fund has grown considerably since it commenced operations in 1995 and to date has provided loans to residents in St. Catherine and the Cooperate Area. In fact, the Community Development Fund now has two (2) additional branches in St. Catherine and one (1) in Kingston serving the clients all over these parishes.
