Ms. Barbara Mitchell is a high school graduate and a single parent. She operates her store in a small plaza across from Juicy Patties in the downtown Kingston business district. She specializes in adult female gowns, dresses and girls clothing.

 

As the main provider in her household, having children, school fees, mortgage and other expenses to take care of, Ms. Mitchell decided that she had to increase her income. In November 2004 she decided to approach the Portmore CDF for a loan to purchase stock for her business. The loan was granted and since then, she has performed creditably with her loan repayment.

 

She is now a repeat borrower with an excellent payment record. Her success is testimony to the fact that with a little financial assistance the sky is the limit. Observations during clients' visits show Ms. Mitchell displaying prudent customer care, which is the reason her success is no surprise to the CDF.

 

Ms. Mitchell has even become a co-signor for her friend whom she introduced to the Portmore CDF family, and who is also performing creditably in her business and loan repayment. The Portmore CDF wishes her all the best in her endeavors.
