St. Ann's Bay - Success Stories
Client: Mrs. Claris Broderick
Project: Jack in the Box Games
Mrs. Claris Broderick has been operating her Games (Play Station) Room and Laundromat business at home for approximately 6 years before she was introduced to the CDF in the year 2001. Upon receiving her first loan from the CDF she was able to purchase twelve additional television sets and relocate the Games Room business to a prime located in the heart of Ocho Rios, so that the services she provide could be utilized by more people.
Mrs. Broderick customer base had increase significantly due to the relocation and there was a need for additional computers and game cartridges and a second loan was granted to her in December 2002. She continues to make her monthly repayments and improve her businesses at the same time. With the continued growth of her business and new games coming on the market monthly there was a need for the improvement of her stock (game cartridges) and a loan extension was granted in November 2003.
The Laundromat business is still home based and a loan was granted to purchase a coin operated washing machine in August 2004 that requires less supervision and monitoring.
Mrs. Broderick is dedicated to the development of her business and practices good business ethics and at no time the CDF staff had to remind her to make her repayment. She is now on her fifth loan from the CDF and was awarded the “Client of the Year” for 2003.
